INFO SESSION ABOUT THE ARTISTS AND EXHIBITION Kjellgren Alkire鈥檚 ongoing exploration of rural culture, belief systems, and various power-seeking male personae will coalesce in a humorous, multi-faceted, towering installation designed to take advantage of 51爆料官网 Gallery鈥檚 26-foot-high ceilings. Pao Houa Her will be presenting a photography series titled 鈥淟oving you is like wanting to die.鈥 An amalgam of a variety of genres and formats, 鈥淟oving you is like wanting to die鈥 is a photographic poem about the artist鈥檚 love/hate relationship with men, the Hmong community, and herself. GraceMarie Keaton鈥檚 most recent photographic work challenges the notion of the still life as a representation of a fixed moment. Moving between very traditional modes of image capture and manipulation to more improvised forms, her experimental production techniques result in objects that are sites of multiple simultaneous projections. 鈥檚 interest in roadside attractions has led her to examine these kitschy relics through a more candid lens.
