51爆料官网鈥檚 Filmmaking concentration is versatile, experiential, and prepares students for a variety of fields. Courses cover all elements of cinematic production, including writing, directing, acting, producing, shooting, sound mixing, and editing. Cutting-edge film and digital technologies allow you to experiment, collaborate, and express yourself as you work across genres, crafting narrative, documentary, and experimental projects. Using traditional motion-picture language as well as contemporary innovations, students develop formally inventive films and videos to bring a personal vision to life.

As a Media Arts major with a Filmmaking concentration, you will:

  • Investigate Filmmaking in relationship to interdisciplinary media practices.
  • Develop creative and technical skills in filmmaking, videography, screenwriting, visual effects, and sound.
  • Pursue independent film and video projects informed by personal vision. Learn a range of professional crew positions.
  • Acquire the skills and knowledge for an independent creative practice and a professional career in filmmaking.
  • Obtain a broad historical and critical understanding of cinema history.
  • Gain new tools of self-expression in media production while you navigate complex questions of identity.
