September 27, 2021 George Halvorson George Halvorson 鈥75 is to feature life's ordinary moments through the lens of extraordinary joy, beauty, and humor in his first solo exhibition New 22. Halvorson's work will be on display at the Douglas Flanders Art and Associates gallery in Edina. Halvorson鈥檚 exhibit will feature 22 color-rich paintings, each capturing life鈥檚 seemingly inconsequential moments in precise detail and showing the beauty, joy, and whimsy that actually make these moments extraordinary. Halvorson鈥檚 鈥渟napshots鈥 of everyday life, painted in multiple, thin layers of acrylic on canvas, reveal scenes such as women basking seaside in wide-brimmed straw hats, an RV traveling retiree sipping Dos Equis at a campground, a woman waving to motorists from a highway overpass set against the backdrop of a crisp blue sky, and a baseball-capped observer watching graffiti-adorned railcars roll by. 鈥淢y work invites people to examine the ordinary moments of life in order to understand just how extraordinary those moments might really be,鈥 says Halvorson. 鈥淚 am honored to be the opening show at Douglas Flanders鈥 new Edina gallery and look forward to sharing my work publicly for the first time.鈥 New 22 October 16鈥擭ovember 27 Douglas Flanders Art and Associates Gallery (Edina) Reception: October 16, 5:00鈥8:00 p.m. Learn More Explore more about George Halvorson
