The Minneapolis College of Art and Design MFA program is pleased to present De/Coding, the fall exhibition showcasing the work of first- and second-year MFA students. Presenting a variety of disciplines including photography, painting, animation, printmaking, illustration, sculpture, and graphic design, the exhibition features work by twenty-six artists and designers. It will take place in the program's spacious new studio and gallery space, right up the street from 51±¬ÁϹÙÍø's main campus. De/Coding explores the structures of communication in art and the connections between ideas, artworks, and perceptions to encourage dialogue. "You understand me because there exists a code (a sort of inner competence shared by you and me) and there exist possible messages, performed as concrete utterances and interpretable as a set of propositions." –Eco, 1973
