Introduction to Painting

In this course, students learn basic oil painting techniques through studio painting sessions rooted in direct observation. Applied color theory, use of critical language, direct painting techniques, and studio safety practices are covered. Studio practice includes the still life and model. Group and individual critiques, lectures, demonstrations, and museum visits round out the class.
